Royal and Loyal Lagotto Romagnolo – Carla Sandrinelli – Coos Bay ORGON USA

Italian by Heritage – Lifetime of Loyalty

Nardelli’s family – Gina –
Royal and Loyal Prosciutto e Funghi

I work at a truffle farm and I forage for our native truffles here in Oregon.

As my interests grew it became clear that I’d need a trained dog if I wanted to be successful. My wife was hesitant, but ultimately gave a green light with the understanding that she was not going to help.

While I feel like Gina and I were destined for each other, perhaps even cosmically pre-determined, the truth is, I found Carla and Bob at Royal and Loyal.

When my daughter was born I had all the normal anxieties of a first time father. I did not realize the bliss of not having to actually choose her. Choosing a pup from Carla and Bob will spare you the anxiety of wondering if you are making the best choice regarding something that you will eventually consider family. Their documentation of bloodlines and health records are just as meticulous as their care for the dogs. These dogs are family members for them first and it showed with how well adjusted and socialized Gina was when I got her. Also, to my delight, Carla had been exposing the pups to truffles and scent training, which I’m sure helped with Gina’s professional development. Not to brag too much, but I have become acutely aware of the jealousy in the eyes of other Lagotto parents when they see how stinking cute she is.

Choosing Gina from Royal and Loyal was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She will turn 1 this week and she is already finding truffles everywhere we go. She makes me smile every single day. My wife not only helps with Gina, she has a new jogging buddy. I look forward to the day that Gina interrupts their jog to pull her off the trail for a truffle.

Thank you Carla and Bob!

Wilson’s Family – Rascal –
Royal and Loyal Quattro Formaggi

How do you find the perfect fit — canine to human? Especially when that canine must meet strict criteria like: no shedding, no incessant barking, no health issues, all this while being loving, smart, fun and good with our 11 year old Lakeland terrier.

Carla and Bob Dyer had the answer — the largest, most mellow pup of their Lagotto Romagnolo litter, Royal and Loyal Quattro Formaggio a.k.a. Rascal.   When we met the Dyers at their home, we were welcomed and invited to interact with them and their pups.  George, our Lakeland, was also included in that introduction.  When we were ready to take Rascal home a week later, Carla was very helpful with care instructions.  She has always been available for advice and keenly interested in Rascal’s well-being.

Rascal is now a year old and fully integrated into our family.  He is a loving companion and a real treat to wake up to in the morning and snuggle with in the evening.

Bonfiglio Family – Massimo –
Royal and Loyal Calzone

This breed needs a lot of attention, mental stimulation, and a yard to dig up. Massimo just turned one, and he has brought so much happiness to our family. He is great with our young kids and knows who to charm for extra attention.

This is an amazing breed that is always looking to make you happy and craves acknowledgment. It is in their nature to dig, and Massimo brings us rocks
and chunks of dirt daily. He once spent a couple of afternoons digging out a rock twice the size of a tennis ball, then proudly left it for us on our couch. Massimo loves to play games, and if we think he is up to something, he usually is! He also just loves to cuddle and snuggle by your side.
Sometimes he sleeps from 8pm-7am, and other times he goes to bed at 8pm, wants love at 4am, and then is perfectly content sleeping on your feet while you enjoy your coffee at 4:15am!

If you’re considering adding a Lagotto to your family, I highly recommend Royal and Loyal Lagotto! While researching, take your time and do your homework, but also begin a dialogue with Carla. I communicated with multiple breeders across the US and even Italy to find the right match for my family. Carla stood out as the only breeder who truly understood the breed and focused on ensuring her puppies went to loving forever homes – it was never just a transaction.
Upon meeting Carla and Bob in person, I felt like I had known them for years. Their welcoming nature and the evident bond with their dogs spoke volumes. As a first-time dog owner alongside my wife who grew up with dogs, I’ve learned that choosing a breeder is much like marriage.
With Massimo, we gained not just a beloved pet but also an amazing extended family in Carla and Bob, who are always there to provide guidance or simply share in a friendly “Ciao.”
